Our meeting in September was a talk by Rod Shelton, who had published a book called “Darent – The history and stories of a river and its communities” last year. Rod’s presentation was full of illustrations from his book, and travelling from the source above Westerham to the Thames, he told us lots of snippets about the villages and surrounding areas . If you are interested in seeing more information about the book (which has just been reprinted), go to Rod’s website .
Our next meeting will be on Monday 14th November at 8pm in the Horton Kirby Jubilee Hall (next to the Village Hall) and it will be our AGM (which should take about 10 minutes), followed by a short talk by Terry Moyle, and then finally our Cheese & Wine evening.
