Newsletter No. 114 – October 2015
Our September meeting was a talk by Steve Hookins called “Waterloo 200”, and Steve gave us an excellent talk about how the Battle of Waterloo came about, and how it was fought, and who was involved. He also showed us some items from the battle including a small cannon ball.
Our next meeting will be on Monday 9th November at 8pm in the Horton Kirby Village Hall. Sarah Lewis and Stephen de Winton will be giving a very short talk after our speedy AGM, and there will be a display of WW1 information as well as the legendary cheese and wine.
Please note that subscriptions are now due for the year 2015-2016 (these can be paid at our meetings) and they have now risen to:
